CerviQ Receives Top Health Partner Recognition in the City of Santo Tomas: A Milestone in Our Shared Journey Toward Cervical Cancer Elimination 1

A Milestone in Our Shared Journey Toward Cervical Cancer Elimination

Today marks a moment of profound gratitude and renewed purpose for End Cervical Cancer Philippines Organization Inc. (CerviQ) as we were honored as one of the Top Health Partners of the City of Santo Tomas—a recognition awarded during the ceremony held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) – Santo Tomas Campus.

Receiving this distinction from Hon. Arth Jhun Marasigan, Mayor of Santo Tomas City, together with Vice Mayor Catherine Jaurigue Perez, City Executive Assistant on Health – Dr. Arnielyn Marasigan, and the esteemed City Councilors, is both humbling and energizing. This award symbolizes not just a partnership, but a shared commitment to protect the women of Santo Tomas from a preventable disease.

Nearly One Year of United Action Against Cervical Cancer

As the city advances its vision of a healthier, empowered community, CerviQ is honored to stand beside the City Health Office and the entire LGU leadership. Over the past year, we worked hand-in-hand to:

  • Introduce speculoscopy-assisted VIA screening in barangays

  • Strengthen community education on HPV, prevention, and early detection

  • Support the documentation and integration of cervical health data

  • Help ensure that screening becomes accessible, stigma-free, and women-centered

This recognition is truly a celebration of every midwife, BHW, nurse, physician, barangay leader, and volunteer who made each screening day possible—from setting up venues, to comforting anxious women, to capturing and documenting cervical images that will guide future interventions.

A Message of Gratitude

To the City Government of Santo Tomas:

Maraming salamat po.
Thank you for trusting CerviQ with this mission. Thank you for almost a year of unwavering collaboration, generosity of spirit, and bold leadership in cervical cancer prevention. You have shown what an LGU can achieve when it decides that no woman should die from a preventable cancer.

Your commitment to the WHO 90-70-90 targets is not just policy—it is compassion in action. And CerviQ is deeply honored to walk this journey with you.

Moving Forward: Toward a Cervical Cancer–Free Santo Tomas

This award strengthens our resolve to continue building:

  • Better screening access

  • Stronger community engagement

  • More innovative tools for early detection

  • And a pathway for Santo Tomas to become a model city for cervical cancer elimination

Together, we can ensure that every woman—regardless of status, age, or location—has the chance to live a healthy, cancer-free life.

Congratulations to the City of Santo Tomas, and thank you for allowing CerviQ to be part of your story.
