CerviQ at ASTIG 2025: Exploring New Frontiers Where Health, Technology, and Community Converge 1

SMX CONVENTION PASAY – CerviQ is honored to be invited to this year’s ASTIG 2025: Where Communities and Technologies Converge, held on December 5, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Taguig City. Representing our organization were Co-Founder Ms. Gelyn Soleman and Community Engagement Specialist Ms. Ruby Rabang Gutierrez, who joined innovators, scientists, and community partners in a forum dedicated to shaping the future of inclusive and accessible technologies.

Strengthening Distance Learning Through REIINN Technology

One of the most inspiring conversations during the event centered on a potential collaboration with DOST-ASTI through the REIINN (Rapid, Efficient, and Intelligent Content Delivery Network for the Nation) technology—a promising platform designed to support learning continuity, particularly in unserved and underserved communities.

Through the insightful connection made with Science and Technology Fellow Mr. John Chris T. Kwong, CerviQ envisions contributing to REIINN by providing health education materials, especially on cervical cancer prevention, HPV awareness, women’s health literacy, and community empowerment.

This potential partnership holds immense promise:

  • Bringing vital health information to far-flung areas

  • Strengthening distance learning infrastructure

  • Addressing barriers in connectivity, access, and content delivery

  • Empowering communities through tech-driven health literacy

We remain hopeful that this dialogue blossoms into a fruitful collaboration, one that bridges the gap between public health and digital innovation.

Advancing the Philippine-Developed Speculoscope: A New Collaboration Pathway

Another exciting opportunity emerging from ASTIG 2025 was our potential collaboration with the Electronics Product Development Center (EPDC)—a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing and validating electronic product innovations in the country.

CerviQ is currently developing a locally manufactured speculoscope, and EPDC presents a powerful pathway to:

  • Improve its electronic design and performance

  • Support prototyping, testing, and compliance certifications

  • Strengthen local innovation and manufacturing capabilities

  • Scale the device sustainably for nationwide cervical screening programs

We extend our warmest thanks to Ms. Erica Concepcion of EPDC for her congeniality, openness, and enthusiasm for future discussions. We look forward to exploring how EPDC’s expertise can accelerate the enhancement and deployment of our speculoscope technology.
