DASMARINAS, CAVITE – In celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, a meaningful educational awareness and cervical cancer screening Cavite service activity was successfully conducted on March 28 at the Burol 2 Covered Court in Barangay Burol 2, Dasmarinas Cavite. The initiative was led by Barangay Chairman Hon. Edwin C. Unlayao, together with Barangay Kagawads Hon. Erin Jane Aballar and Hon Gloria Aguilando highlighting the community’s strong commitment to women’s health and preventive care.
Cervical Cancer Screening Cavite: Bringing Screening Closer to the Community
A total of 34 women from the community underwent cervical cancer screening during the activity. By bringing services directly to the barangay level, the program removed common barriers such as access, cost, and awareness—ensuring that more women had the opportunity to prioritize their health.

Cervical cancer remains one of the most preventable yet still prevalent cancers among women. Early detection through screening plays a critical role in identifying precancerous changes before they progress into more serious conditions.
Importance of Follow-Up Care

While many of the screened patients had reassuring initial findings, some individuals were advised to return for a secondary visit within the next three months. This step is essential in ensuring that any suspicious findings are properly monitored, evaluated, and managed early.
Follow-up care is just as important as the initial screening—it completes the cycle of prevention and ensures better health outcomes for patients.

A Community Effort
This initiative would not have been possible without the collaboration and dedication of local leaders and healthcare advocates. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Grace Red for her invaluable support and contribution to the success of the program. The same goes to Midwife Ms Trixie Fernandez.

Programs like this demonstrate how grassroots efforts—powered by committed leaders and healthcare professionals—can create real impact in the fight against cervical cancer.
Moving Forward
As we continue to celebrate women’s strength and resilience this month, initiatives like the Burol 2 screening serve as a reminder:
👉 Prevention starts with awareness.
👉 Early detection saves lives.
👉 Community action makes it possible.
This screening activity in Dasmariñas, Cavite is part of ongoing efforts to expand cervical cancer screening services across the Philippines.
Maraming salamat sa oportunidad na makapaglingkod at makapagbahagi ng kaalaman para sa kalusugan ng kababaihan.
