The BABAYES Women’s Month initiative officially opened today with the launch of the Pink Corner at the Mandaue City Government Center, bringing together healthcare advocates and community partners committed to strengthening women’s health.
Starting 1:00 PM, women began arriving for breast and cervical cancer screening services, marking the first day of the program that will run every Friday and Saturday this March.
During the event, Dr. Jesus Randy “Bogs” Rivera, founder of CerviQ – End Cervical Cancer Philippines Organization Inc., dropped by to support the initiative and share the idea of expanding cervical cancer screening using speculoscope-assisted VIA, a technology that enhances visualization and documentation during screening.

Dr. Rivera discussed the concept with leaders of Women of Mandaue Against Breast Cancer (WOMB), Parkmall, and other partners supporting the BABAYES Women’s Month program.
Also expressing support for the initiative is Health Screen Laboratory and Diagnostic Center, which operates branches in Times Square Mandaue (across Parkmall), Lahug, and Cordova. The laboratory network signaled its commitment to collaborate with the organizers to further expand accessible cervical cancer screening services for women in Cebu.
For more than 11 years, WOMB has been a strong advocate for breast cancer awareness in Cebu. Through programs like BABAYES, women are encouraged to prioritize their health through early detection, awareness, and preventive screening.
💗 A meaningful first day for a program dedicated to protecting the health of women in Mandaue.
