The Advanced Science, Technology, and Innovation Convention (ASTICON 2025) returns for its second year, reaffirming its status as the Philippines’ premier national platform for showcasing transformative advancements in research and development. Led by the Department of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI), ASTICON 2025 demonstrates the Institute’s unwavering dedication to pushing the frontiers of innovation and fostering multisectoral collaboration.
This year’s convention brings together an influential gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, academic institutions, civil society groups, and forward-thinking innovators. The event serves as a crucible for bold ideas, emerging technologies, and pioneering solutions that address national development goals through science and technology.
In a significant milestone for public health and technological synergy, Doc Bogs Rivera, Gelyn Soleman, and Tony Cama—representatives of End Cervical Cancer Philippines Organization Inc. (ECCPOI) attended ASTICON 2025 and are scheduled to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DOST-ASTI. This landmark partnership aims to develop AI-powered programming and tools that will enhance cervical cancer prevention, education, and early detection strategies across the country.
Tony Cama, of the Philippine Eagles Media Bureau (PEMB), underscored the vital role of such conventions in advancing both innovation and public service:
