Join us in our mission to promote cancer awareness and cervical screening through our year-long community-based initiative. With “Silip Cervix Sagip Buhay,” we aim to increase cancer consciousness, prevent cancer, and detect precancerous lesions early, ultimately reducing cervical cancer cases and saving women’s lives.
About Silip Cervix Sagip Buhay Project
“Silip Cervix Sagip Buhay” (Examining the Cervix Saves Lives) is a community-based initiative that aims to promote cancer awareness and cervical screening. The goal is to increase cancer consciousness, promote cancer prevention, and detect precancerous lesions early, thus reducing cervical cancer cases and saving women’s lives.
The key to early detection and saving lives is cervical screening. Our screening technology uses a colposcope, called CERVIRAY AI, to magnify the cervix during visualization. The AI technology enhances medical decision-making, allowing us to detect precancerous lesions years ahead before they become cancer. This effectively reduces cancer cases and saves women’s lives.
To conduct screening in your community, we will use the CERVIRAY AI provided by End Cervical Cancer PH (CerviQ) and AIDOT. However, the AI server is required to make it work. The Rotary Club of South San Francisco from California, USA supports the one-year server fee. This will support an unlimited number of tests within a year. If we can conduct screening for 10,000 patients in a year, the cost of screening per patient goes down to less than 40 pesos per patient.
Please note that this cost does not include capital to buy reusable materials like speculum, autoclave, and other devices needed in the screening process, the consumables that will be used for every patient, manpower, transportation, meals, and others. We have partnered with other Rotary clubs to help cover these additional costs.
We cannot accomplish our mission alone and we request your assistance to support us in screening as many patients as possible within a year.
Your help can come in the form of monetary aid, which will help us meet other needs to complete this mission or through sponsoring a mission. Currently, we are commencing our campaign in the province of Cavite, as requested by our sponsor from the Rotary Club of South San Francisco (USA).
We have connected with the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Nelson Soriano, and our first mission is tentatively scheduled for February 26 in Tagaytay. Dr. Liza Capupus, the City Health Officer of Tagaytay City, will lead the group.
.
We are opening our calendar to you, other Local Government Units, Non-Governmental Organizations, and other groups to connect with us and support our cervical cancer awareness and screening program throughout the year.
Please take note of the following information about the Silip Cervix Sagip Buhay screening program:
- The use of Colposcope (Cerviray AI) for free.
- At least two trained personnel who can provide information and awareness about HPV, cervical cancer, and HPV-mediated diseases, operate the Cerviray AI machine, and conduct cervical cancer screening efficiently.
- Presenter training on HPV, cervical cancer, and other HPV-mediated diseases (upon request).
- In-depth training on the screening approach with the use of a colposcope and AI (upon request).Introduction to treatment approaches to precancerous lesions and cervical cancer, patient navigation, and available service delivery network (upon request)

To understand the registration process, watch the video here.
3. Documentation:
CerviQ relies on content creation, photos, videos, and interviews to promote its activities, advocacy, services, and raise public awareness on HPV, Cervical Cancer and other HPV-mediated diseases. Remember, lack of awareness and knowledge is one of the causes of cervical cancer screening failure. .
Therefore, we ask the mission organizer to fully support our objective, create content, photos, videos, and interviews and share our mission to the public using our hashtags #silipcervixsagipbuhay and #endcervicalcancerph.
4. Courtesy Call To Leaders In Your Community:
Part of our mission is to present our solution to our local government leaders, health leaders, and doctors. We request your kind assistance to help us meet your local and community leaders and provide us with an opportunity to present our advocacy and services.
Unlike other types of cancer where genetics plays a strong role, Cervical cancer is highly preventable through HPV vaccination and Cervical screening. Our leaders can adapt these preventive measures with ease and help reduce the number of Cervical cancer cases.
5. Cervical Cancer Awareness:
The morning activity starts with a lecture on HPV, Cervical Cancer, and other HPV-mediated diseases delivered by either the host club or the CerviQ volunteers. We kindly ask the host organizer for the day to prepare and provide sound systems.
6. Patient General Data Form and Informed Consent:
The organizers are responsible for printing and securing the filling up of physical registration forms and informed consent forms before the cervical screening of the patient. You can find a sample consent form below.
7. Cervical Screening – Room Requirements
- Room size must be at least 3 x 2 meters, enclosed, well ventilated preferably with air condition or air coolers.
- The patient bed can be a makeshift table with dimensions of at least 4 feet in length and 2 feet in width, sturdy that can withstand two people standing in it.
- We require the host organizer to prepare at least three small tables inside the room to be used to hold screening materials.
- Prepare one to two chairs as well and a three (3) pieces of triple AAA Alkaline batteries needed for the head light used by the screener.
- We request the room to have several plug outlets readily available and extension cords to reach the table.
- Furthermore, we request the room to have one spare bucket where dirty speculums are later collected and a trash bin where patient fluids are collected.
8. Cervical Screening – Internet Requirements
- Internet is a crucial requirement for hosting an effective screening. It’s highly important to consider the internet when selecting the screening room location. The room must have a fast, strong, dedicated internet connection, with speeds of at least 10 MBPS or more.
- The speed of the screening process and image capture depends highly on the presence of a strong internet connection.
In our experience, the best scenario is to use a dedicated cable internet line, rather than Wi-Fi, connected to a modem located inside the screening room.
9. Cervical Screening – Consumables
Consumable are materials consumed during the screening of around 30 and 40 patients in a day. The consumables shall be provided by the organizer. These include:
- 1 bottle of Del Monte Red Vinegar 490 ml,
- 1 Box of Latex Exam Gloves 100 pieces,
- 1 pack of Cotton Roll 100 grams
- 1 pack Bamboo sticks 100 pieces per pack
- 1 plastic bottle of bleach (Zonrox) original formula 100 ml

- 2 to 3 pieces of Garbage Bag Large
- 2 to 3 packs of disposable paper table napkins
- 1 Scotch-Brite Sponge and scrubbing material
10. Cervical Screening – Reusable Materials
CerviQ can provide reusable materials to the host organizers for their screening project, as long as they take responsibility for keeping the materials in good condition, acquiring and returning them to CerviQ’s offsite location, and ensuring that they are clean and sterilized for the next use. The proper disinfection procedure will be discussed in another section. The materials are enclosed in portable container bags and includes:
- 40 pieces of speculum
- 3 pieces of kidney basin
- 1 pieces of cotton holder
- 1 piece of long forcep
- 2 pieces of pick up forceps
- 2 pieces of tongs
- 1 piece of instrument holder
- 1 Internet Modem with GOMO SIM
- 1 Samsung Galaxy tablet A8, and
- 1 Cerviray AI device
11. Medical Evaluator of Cervical Images
The host organizer should coordinate with their local community health officers or medical doctors to evaluate cervical images.
If there are no available medical professionals, the host can request assistance from doctors known to CerviQ.
12. Screener’s Stipend, Administrative Costs, Transportation, Food and Donation
To keep our services going, CerviQ requests a small amount of donations, which would cover the screener’s stipend, administrative costs, and wear and tear of the machine and materials. The organizing host is responsible for the screener’s transportation and food.
