GLOW TEAL PHILIPPINES
On November 17, 2020, over 100 landmarks were illuminated in the color teal to usher in a historic movement: for the first time ever, the world has committed to eliminate a cancer.
On that day, WHO launched a global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer, following a resolution passed by 194 countries. The moment was celebrated with a worldwide day of action, which culminated in successful testing and advocacy campaigns around the world, the inauguration of new treatment facilities, and political commitments.
This year on November 17 2021, we will mark the first anniversary of the movement.
CerviQ, in partnership with Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. (IWCPI), will echo the call of the WHO to take action on this global crisis afflicting women.
The formidable partnership between CerviQ and IWCPI will bring hope to all Filipino women who are suffering from cervical cancer most especially those who are unaware of their cervical health.
Our pledge of commitment to eradicating cervical cancer in our country will be highlighted in today’s Glow Teal lighting ceremony which symbolizes aspiration to advocates to give a light of hope to all women and empower them to make an active choice and control over their health.
