FREE CERVICAL SCREENING
The World Health Organization‘s Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer was launched last November 17, 2020. The strategy outlines three important steps: vaccination, cervical screening, and treatment. Successful implementation of all three could reduce more than 40% of new cases of the disease and 5 million related deaths by 2050.
In 2001, World Health Study Reports – only 7.7% of the entire women population age 18 to 69 years old attended the screening. Barriers toward effective cervical screening include the lack of knowledge on cervical cancer and the importance of cervical screening, screening cost, and the lack of treatment facilities and expertise. Thus, the incidence of cervical carcinoma remains high in our country despite technological advancement in the field of medicine.
CerviQ aims to provide FREE CERVICAL SCREENING to marginalized sectors of our community through sponsorship and voluntary donations.
